Kids and job limited opportunities. Working on starting a club in
Wichita. Have about 8 people interested and hope to have six lane
55' track up and running within 30 days. Have all the track, power
supply, etc. Interested in F-1 and Nascar. Favor Tyco bodies. Have
enough parts and bodies from my youth to put together some T-jets and
will once I'm up and running. I am a detailer with layouts and hope
to have a routed track in this lifetime.

I like HO slotcars and feel like I've picked up where I left off at a young age. I
lost interest in slots after the popular owner of a local hobby shop where I had just begun to race
T-Jets died suddenly in an accident. The shop closed and my interest in slots was put aside until
some 34 years later. I haven't raced anywhere except my own house on the track I pulled out of
mothballs but do have an interest in meeting some of the other in the hobby for some fun racing,
trading and chatting. I've built a small collection in the last 4 months and would also like to
try my hand at modeling, track building and racing.

I'm a 35 yr old father of two boys 5&6. I got my first Aurora set at 5 which I kept
along with my cars from childhood. I got back into the cars and starting collecting last year when
my kids were old enough that I could run with them. I run Aurora pancake motors mostly tjet some
AFX both stock. I like restoring bodies and redoing the chassis as well to take old cars back up
the running shape again.

Another baby boomer back into slots starting again Spring 1998. I picked up a pile of
track at a steal price and set it up for my two young boys. We love cars, they enjoy racing
slotcars and of course I got hooked. MAN these things are addicting !!!
Mostly pancake motor stuff, reminicent of my growing up near Buffalo NY and running
tjets on snowy winter days, back when Aurora ruled a young boy's world. Today I run with the kids
and some informal fun running with others locally. Hope to work on producing some new resin shells
as time allows. Also a big builder-collector of 1/24 car kits, attend many auto racing live events
and bracket race my 1970 SS396 a couple times a month.

The Gateway Slot Racing Association was formed officially in 1992 out of several other
area organizations. We sanction
1/32nd and 1/24th "scale" slot car races in the St. Louis area on 5 custum built, 4-lane
routed tracks and area commercial tracks. We also host HO-St.Louis Thunderjet races on
our
4 lane Tomy track. The GSRA races every Wednesday evening and HO-St. Louis races every
Monday evening.

Had a layout when I was in grade school (mid 60's). Played with it
for a few years. Packed it all away during high school. Keep it all
these years and took it out around Christmas of 97. Decided this is
what I've been missing! Went from about 10 old t-jets to almost 200
slot cars of all types. I love Can-Am/GTP style and F1/Indy cars the best.

After years of watching Andy push his diecast cars around my old Eldon 1/32 track, one
day Andy asked about getting the track working. It needed a lot of work, so to satisfy our "need
for speed", we bought a small Tomy set. We have bought a lot of cars (mostly Tyco) since then, and
a bunch of various kinds of track. We have now decided to build a permanent four lane setup, using
Tomy track. We have also recently developed an appreciation for T-Jets (thanks to the DL) and
non-Magnatraction A/FX cars. As it turns out, Andy (aka "The Boy") who will soon be 12, is a better
T-Jet tuner and racer than the old man! At least I showed him how to take the things apart!

My father and I run Mopar Mountain Motorplex located right outside of Greeneville,
Tennessee which is about 45 minutes from the Bristol Motor Speedway. Our track is a member of the
Appalachian Slot Car Association (ASCA). We exist to promote our interest in slot car racing
within our area as a viable and enjoyable hobby. Our track currently is a 4 lane 97 foot Road
Course that is well suited for T-Jets and Stock Classes. We race on various Saturday nights
between the months of February and November. We run a variety of classes including thunderjets,
Super Truck, Sports Car, Stock Car, Iroc, and Unlimited. We use TrakMate lap counter software. We
welcome any new racers or those who might be visiting the area to drop by for the best slot car
racing in Tennessee.

I'm mostly interested in and collect Aurora Thunderjet Mustangs. My current collection
of Mustangs as of March 19, 1999 consists of 78 different color combinations of the Aurora
Thnuderjet Mustang Convertible, Hardtop Coupe, and the 2+2 Fasback. I will trade most any other car
that I have in my collection for Mustangs with color combinations I don't currently have. A couple
that I still need are any Green Hardtop Coupe Mustangs, any Olive Hardtop with white stripes, and a
Yellow with Yellow Top Hardop Coupe Mustang.

Hi, Recently I discoverd the "Fray" I am fasinated by this and although 48 years old with "shot" reflexes, I am a competitor. I would like to contact other racers in the Texas area and "WOP ASS' at the FRAY. I publish The Old Weird Herald - the most dangerous 'zine in slot car racing!
It's existed since around 1971, but has been an online publication since April 1, '97.
OWH covers all scales & types of slot cars, but admitedly has not had any HO
information, as there is a lot of good HO info already online.
I race everything I can get my hands on, from HO, 1/32 "club" racing, Vintage, 1/32 "Euroscale"(Scalextric, Ninco, Fly), 1/24 "scale" (non-wing). I have recently been competing in weekly Washington HOPAC and Scale Auto sanctioned races on several very nice Bucktrax tracks in the Seattle area. at approx 60 pages per issue, quarterly.
Subscriptions: £10 UK & Europe, £15 Rest of the World, per annum.
Also run on HO Racing club, C.H.O.R.C (Chesterfield HO Racing Club) which is in its
10th year. Meet monthly with adult and junior classes, quarterly and annual championships. Collect as well as race. I have approx 1000 cars, mainly Tyco (600+), then Tomy and Aurora (200 of each). Also into other makes and just started on T'jets, new and vintage. Like 'whacky' off-beat slots too. Quad Racers, sprinters, Fasttraxx, dragsters, Skyfighters, turbotrains, etc, etc. |
